This workshop is for club members who are seeking to support successful and safe club activities by gaining a first aid certificate. The workshop will cover:
• assessment of emergency situations
• adult, child and infant resuscitation and choking
• bleeding, shock, fractures, sprains and head injuries
• hypothermia, burns and poisoning
• medical emergencies, including asthma, diabetes and epilepsy
• how to manage complex medical and traumatic emergency care situations This workshop is best suited to: Club members who have at least three semesters left to complete on their degree Club members who have a demonstrated commitment to the club Club members who are current students Clubs who undertake high risk outdoor activities Clubs who are responsible for students on trips away Clubs who often run large and complex events Space is limited for the first 20 people signing up. The rest 10 will be on the waitlist.
